THIS POSITION IS OPEN IN KILGORE, TEXAS

Under close supervision, builds boxes and crates adequate to protect assemblies and components during shipping and/or storage. Prepares and packs assemblies and components for shipment.
Essential Functions:
• Builds crates and boxes that will provide adequate protection for components during shipment and storage.
• Performs tasks that require the use of hand tools, power tools, and forklift.
• Communicates with upper and lower-level employees concerning crating and processes.
• Cleans and packs components as required prior to crating.
• Crates and bands components for shipment.
• Performs work area cleanup and safety related duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Complies with all Company policies, procedures and regulations.
• Maintains quality output while meeting department production requirements.
• Works during scheduled hours.
This position is with General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Government Systems, Inc., but which operationally reports into General Dynamics C4 Systems, Inc. Experience and Education
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year carpentry experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Reading comprehension skills to understand work orders, written instructions, parts manuals and prints.
• Math skills to perform basic calculations.
• Basic carpentry skills.
• Interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others.
• Mechanical ability to understand the operation of equipment used in the department.
• Ability to work under time pressure.
• Ability to see small detail.
• Ability to climb ladder.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
